4CULTURE hosted three Wild Cards projects, from Belgium/Austria, Italy/Romania and UK. The residencies took place at MNAC - The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest.
The participants were: Thomas Steyaert (BE) & Raul Maia (PT/AT), Valentina de Piante (IT/RO) & Serenela Fonzar (IT) Freddie Opoku Addaie (UK) + 2 dancers.
During the residencies, the artists benefited from the working spaces at the MNAC where they researched on new productions and shared ideas and feedbacks. The MNAC proofed to be a good space for private research, as well as a rich and inspiring environment for public interventions/showings.
Additionally, the project of Freddie Opoku Addaie received support for organizing a trip research-study at Horezu (a small town in centre part of Romania, famous for its handcraft masters and ateliers).
At the end of the residencies, the work in progress presentations were hosted within the frame of eXplore dance festival #5, in October 2010. In order to promote the activity, 4CULTURE produced flyers/invitations and brochures, and special press releases were sent to local and international media.
A special video documentary of Jardin d’Europe 2010 activities was produced and broadcasted by Romanian National Television – Culture Channel, within dancemakers - tv series production on dance, including interviews and excerpt of the performances.
