“From the Castor and Pollux myth, we hope, using suspension
techniques, asceticism and trance, to literally invent an astral choreography. The
suspension is also an echo to the first dances of humanity brought back as
astronomical dances which initiate the movement of the starts and the
planets.” Cecilia Bengolea and François Chaignaud.

In this work the two dancers transport themselves into galactic spheres in their
new piece. The sons of Zeus, half and twin brothers Castor and Pollux, are the
name givers of a bright pair of stars and serve as the point of departure for a
journey into remote galaxies. Chaignaud and Bengolea make use of balancing
techniques, trance and ascesis referencing cultish dances. Their esoteric
metamorphosis leads us into a world of intermediate beings, while they take off
into new dimensions beyond Venus and Mars.
